1 cup sugar

1 cup sour cream

1 cup dark molasses

1 cup melted butter

2 cups flour

2 eggs

2 teaspoons ginger

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoons allspice

a pinch of cinnamon and Mace

 

first beat eggs well then add the sour cream, sugar and molasses. then stir in the sifted flour with soda and spices. input the melted butter and whisk it well. Fill baking sheet cake 3/4 full and bake gingerbread in a moderate oven (325 degrees F) for about 35 minutes, or until cooked through. Serve hot as a bread for tea with butter, or hot with whipped cream as dessert is very popular among children, or served cold as a cake.
